President Ivanka?!

https://www.salon.com/2019/07/02/presid ... -eye-open/

This is probably just a Salon journalist flight of fancy, but it's kind of an interesting one:

Cutting right to the chase, I believe Trump might be grooming Ivanka, rather than Donald Trump Jr., to succeed him — a move that would solve a couple of Trump’s most harrowing problems. In fact, there’s a rumor currently circulating among Republican circles in Washington in which Trump suddenly declines the nomination sometime next summer, presumably for health reasons, then lobbies the convention delegates to toss their votes to Ivanka as his rightful heir and the 2020 nominee.

Every month or so I just get this dreadful feeling of despair that we're gonna have 8+ years of Trump.

Anything is obviously possible, but how many people who didn’t vote for him the first time have decided that it’s really important that they vote for him now?

That's the question, isn't it? I assume none of his 2016 voters have gone off him. I guess that's not fair, but it really seems like conservatives would rather be dead than convinced of anything.

So that leaves people who have decided it's really important to vote for him this time. Those folks have been constantly bombarded by all of... *gestures vaguely* THIS and may have decided (consciously or not) that it's Trump or the terrifying, horrifying modern world.

I'm worried, man.

me too. I know at least a solid Half Dozen people who wouldn't admit to voting for him before who pretend they'll be in a pickle and just have to vote for him now. You know, because socialism.

If criminal Trump wins in 2020 ( I think he will unless there is a market collapse) I believe we will get him for 12 years and this country will be in ruins by the time he is out.

Let's play another round of IDIOT or FASCIST!

“They’re not using what we gave them fairly and they have to do that,” Trump said. “And we don’t want to stifle anything, we certainly don’t want to stifle free speech, but that’s no longer free speech. See, I don’t think the mainstream media is free speech either because it’s so crooked, it’s so dishonest. To me, free speech is not when you see something good and then you purposely write something bad. To me, that’s very dangerous speech.”

Jesus God I've just watched ten minutes of Fox News and ended up shouting at the TV.

What an incredible crock of shit.

Tape shows Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein discussing women at 1992 party

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/ta ... y-n1030686

Wait, I thought Trump didn't know the guy?
Somehow I get the feeling that this is gonna seem tame once the rest of the Epstein file comes to light.

I've come around to the opinion that it doesn't matter. Donald Trump could take a giant WHIZZ on the Girl Scouts of America then he'd start tweeting some insane horseshit and then, before you know it, it's just another distant memory. whizz? Girl Scouts? yeah, I seem to remember something about that but did you hear what TRUMP said about Nancy Pelosi's vagina????

I've considered - what's the LEAST serious thing he could do and not get away with it?

He's tried corruption, groping, more corruption, racism and generally being a maniac, and apparently it bounces off him like he's Iron Man.

What could he NOT get away with?

Brilliant, and it looks like he's right.

Here's another one - who is the last President to come out with something so overtly racist and a) not care and b) get away with it?

Genuine question. It must be a while. 50 years?

I don't know the answer, but it must be more than 50 years ago (that would be Nixon, who was racist behind closed doors but not in public)... unless Reagan or W came out with something that I've forgotten about (wouldn't surprise me).

It is so disgusting - watching that crowd chant "Send her back" I literally felt sick to the stomach- they may as well have had a swastika as a backdrop. Whats next "String her up" ?

And despite what he now says , he was revelling in it.

Live boy or dead girl.

EDIT to add Trump actually said this today: "I personally don't know ASAP Rocky, but I can tell you that he has tremendous support. from the African-American community .. and when when I say African-American, I really can really say from everybody in this country because we are all one."
