He's right, though.

I'm not a big prog fan - i'm VERY much a fan of progressive music, but i have difficulties with a lot of the music and big names that are put under the banner of "prog". That first YES record is a good call indeed - by far my favourite album and period of theirs, not matter how much people say i should love Fragile and so forth.

Here's one that i think fits the remit too; i believe hatzy put me onto it, and has kept on giving, and in many ways was a bit of a gateway into some KC records ...

Some very nice tunes here. I’d suggest Roundabout, by Yes.

Yes, a nice list

However:

3 is not representative of VdGG
7 is overrated and overused
11 is not a track for 'beginners'

Well yes, of course, you’re right...but it was a great tune all the same. Theme tune for Radio 1, as I recall.

I’ve been listening to VDGD a bit lately. Particularly loving Refugees and Pilgrims. Beautiful songs.

Was it demons, wizards, or capes that was the number one priority with us dashing young proggers?

No, it was sex. Always sex. And a wonderful time i had, too.

4 of the 22 in my playlist above have a bit of hanky panky as their partial thrust.
Hardly Barry White is it?

That's got to be a good thing, hasn't it? My girlfriend would not have liked the idea of that humongousity landing on her.

But that's not the point. The Dog is a celebration of sexual freedom and young people at that time.

i was a 15 year old long haired prog rocker. She was a 15 year old glam princess. It was a match made in heaven.

Now you’re talking! I have a large progressive rock playlist on my phone, which is ideal for taking the dog on walks down to the beach. Or even just sitting at the beach hut. Whenever Halo Of Flies comes up on shuffle, I’m a very happy boy. Gotta love Alice Cooper, especially Killer.
