Jesus, the bit of Jeff Goldblum I saw and heard was awful. The fact that he got away with murdering nina Simone's "...Feel to be free" in broad daylight was made even more heinous by that Australian's nightmare of an outfit with which he assaulted everyone's eyes.

If Kylie's "comeback" in the legends spot wasn't awesome enough, she managed to coax Klaus Naomi out of interment.

Confusingly, Ian Faith is British through and through

As predicted, Vampire Weekend were magnificent. Such a relief after sitting through an hour of Interpol. Not because the songs were awful, some are excellent, but a band without any charisma on stage and anawful vocalist. Mrs S.B. wanted to see George Ezra , but came to the conclusion that "he just sings the same song".

Strange, I've seen Interpol live a few times, and they've always been excellent, despite having not written a decent song in fifteen years.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

No love for The Cure? Never having been a huge fan (three albums I haven't played since about 1995 and never seen the band live), I tuned in with minimal expectations and thought they were terrific.

I saw them in Hyde Park for the first time in three decades this time last year and they were fantastic so my expectations for last night were pretty high. Unfortunately, I missed the first few songs and it took me a while to get into the performance but ultimately I thought they were brilliant.
I'm going to catch up on what I missed this afternoon.
Meanwhile, hoping that the Hyde Park show will appear on DVD at some point - it's in selected cinemas about now but not in Middlesbrough unfortunately.

I rather enjoyed the Cure. I rather detested the Liam howling like a moose Gallagher farrago I had the misfortune to stumble across.

Kamasi Washington was great, The Cure were great in bits.

Re: Glastonbury 2019
looked like it was a really good event, or at least the first in many years that had me tempted to go back there in the future. decent line-up, lots of little cameos, and just generally looked like it was a good atmosphere.

On behalf of everyone who's somehow not seen or heard the TV/radio news and has missed the front pages of the newspapers these last two days, thanks so much for your update!

It's not so much cancelled, as replaced with an extended performance of John Cage's 4'33.
