Here's a tale: when I was sent to boarding school in Canterbury, my best friend was into punk, over which we bonded. We hated the Canterbury bands with a passion.

25 years later he did an about turn, having moved from London to Canterbury. We binged on the band's music, and took wives and girlfriends to see the band headline at the Marlowe Theatre at the Canterbury Festival.

An emotional evening!
