Let's talk about "Line of Duty"
Re: Let's talk about "Line of Duty"
I don't watch [tv] that much on iplayer but have been enjoying LoD, even if I needed to catch up earlier on. To be fair, it has been a bit frustrating not chatting about it, it's bloody good stuff. Perhaps next time (if there is a next series) we could do a thread with spoiler warning where we can chat about it on an up-to-date basis. Maybe a second thread for a general non-spoiler discussion?
Just an idea.
Just an idea.

Well I was wrong about who Balaclava Man was but the guy I suspected who was entirely innocent when he first appeared was right up to his neck in it, as I thought.
And didn't Roz H pull another blinder in that last interview.
AndCI ACC Creepy Paws got it.
Bloody ace.

Re: Let's talk about "Line of Duty"
Splendid final episode which simply zoomed by. Much better and more believable than the rather OTT climax to S3, imho, with lots of loose ends to carry forward.
Together with The Missing, one of a handful of truly world-class contemporarily-set shows on UK TV right now.
Apparently already been recommissioned for (at least) two more series. S5 will apparently be about Hastings who's performed the miraculous feat* of being both a catholic and a freemason.
Anyone out there remember Between the Lines from the early 90s which addressed similar issues and was also very, very good
* Well, it used to be, nowadays one suspects 'The Mafia of the Mediocre' will take anyone they can get

Not as far as I know: it just cropped up in the top 100 shows, and people started talking about it

New series in April- am beside myself with excitement and anticipation. I’ve barely slept all night because of the gales so have re-watched most of series 4. Phew!

LoD has some of the most gripping writing and plotting you can find. However it is guilty sometimes of taking outrageous liberties with the plot, it can be ridiculously far fetched, even by the standards of the genre. I'll definitely be watching though.

Too much suspicion being pointed has way for it to actually turn out to be Ted.
Unless it's a double bluff of course. I wouldn't put anything past Jed Mercurio.

I reckon Ted was imitating the original spelling mistake as they'd already seen the transcripts. But what do I know!

Re: Let's talk about "Line of Duty"
Has anyone else noticed that the two main cops’ call signs are
Four Five
And
Three Seven
“So what?” You say.
Exactly the same call signs as Bodie and Doyle!
I kid you not - check it out if you done believe me!

I've been talking about writing a book - 25 years of TEFL - for a few years now. I've got it in me.

And I could have sworn they mentioned taking someone to Decker Avenue nick - which was one of the precincts in Hill Street Blues.

Re: Let's talk about "Line of Duty"
Much as I love Jed M and his stuff, Sunday's ending really was terrible, "dog ate my homework" type desperation.
I think the thing about the Bodyguard and LOD is that you can't really start questioning details too closely or the whole thing falls apart.
Anyone here seen his earlier medical series, Bodies? Far and away the best thing he's done
