I've just learned that Jorge Ben (or Jorge Ben Jor as he now calls himself) will be playing here in Further Spain in June and I'm practically falling over with excitement already!

Excellent! Coincidently I am working on a dj set of Brazilian music I'll be playing tomorrow before and after a local bossa nova band plays my local cidery. I did it the last time they played and ot went down well so I'm anxious to up my game. I usually stick with records but I may slip in some cds as all my Jorge Ben and Gilberto Gil are on that format.

Sounds like fun. Make sure you give Zé Roberto's Lotus 72D a spin if you can. It's his tribute to Brazilian Formula One legend Emerson Fittipaldi - makes a change from Jorge Ben singing about football - and I've been going absolutely fucking daft for it lately.

The newer and deeper depths of depravity and sewage content of the cess pit that is Twitter.

This is from a Covington School incident related Troll Faux Tweet > Twitter feed

Nonsense to the aggressiveness, I've seen more aggression on the my little pony message board......I mean I was told.

There's a shark species - the Greenland Shark, that probably lives to be 500 years old - one specimen has been dated as being 392 years old. Females are thought to be unable to breed until they are around 150 years old.

Dating techniques aren't totally accurate, radiocarbon dating of carbon isotopes in eye tissues, so the one given an age of 392 is thought to be at leastt 272 years old, and could be as much as 512.

A very small amount of mercury can seriously damage aluminum, which is what most airplanes are made from - hence why mercury is banned from flights.

Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

The Ukrainian city that I always thought was called Dnipropetrovsk actually shortened its name to Dnipro in 2016.
