Are those the Esoteric versions? I found them very hissy.

Depends on which esoteric release you are talking about!
This is the latest, new remaster, much better than the previous from Esoteric.

I have the individual CDs so that must be the previous. Great albums though, in spite of the hiss. My preferred period of TD.

Interesting read about the box
Talks about the hiss you mention

Steve Hackett’s new release. Pleasant but much the same as has gone before.

Wouter Besselink, who did the remastering mentioned the original masters being low in bass as well.

The blog is incorrect though about the timing of the box sets in comparison with the Steven Wilson-remix- the Pink Box was already announced in August/September, well before any mention of In Search Of Hades.

RIP Ingo Bischof, long-time keyboardist with Kraan, Karthago and, at times, Guru Guru...

I have dipped toes in with his quite prolific output in recent years and have been disappointed and nearly didn’t bother with this one.

Glad I did. Decent. Instrumental with excellent guitar. Guess I better look back and see what it was that disappointed me on the others I listened to. Maybe I’ve seen the light....

Contrary to what I said there are a few vocals on this. But my opinion on the album as a whole continues to grow. Not just decent. JOLLY decent.

I believe there is another new album on its way.

La Coscienza Di Zeno - Una Vita Migliore

They are very good, probably the best of the modern Italian prog scene (not that it is a scene that appeals greatly to me as unfortunately I struggle with Italian vocals).

Well, I saw it through to the end but to be honest I couldn’t wait for it to get there.

Twiddly folk with age old instruments and for some reason tagged as prog. Not the prog I enjoy. I found it pretty much devoid of merit. Presumably it was interesting at the time.
