Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

A slightly annoying compilation really. Stuff missing and the mixes aren't the same as the original vinyl - they lack a certain umph which the versions currently languishing in my LP boxes have.

So missing : There Is No Shame In Death, Dolphins, and 2 absolute epics The Theme and Arabia, Heaven is waiting, Wake Up, Seduction plus various 12" versions of the above mentioned.

What's the comp, is there a box set or something? I think I have pretty much everything essential on vinyl, but I hardly ever dig out those 7" singles.

Its a Cherry Red compilation "Seduction. The society collection" which is a bit odd as it takes the first album artwork/name, takes the original tracks and expands it into a compilation of the early stuff on Society but doesn't get everything. The 12" singles are worth getting over the 7" btw, different track listings, extended mixes.

I think I'm finally just about worn out on this Jimmy Reed Best Of.
I've always liked him pretty much but I just went hog wild on him for almost two weeks.

"Take Out Some Insurance" is my favorite song in the world right now.

A couple very good tracks but overall I wouldn't put him ahead of any of his cohort. The one with Bilal is good, as is the one with Georgia Ann Muldrow.
The last track is fifteen minutes of his mom (?) talking over a backing track.
I liked it up to that, but it's nothing to rush out and buy.

Excellent! Sometimes, only Jimmy Reed will get it.

I bought this because it was a fiver in HMV, I don't have massive expectations for it at all. Strange how they've become a comedy covers band, given the serious intent of their early years, and even the serious intent of their more famous comedy covers.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.
