This is a fun read - a thorough, indepth piece of writing about the DVD of Dr Hook Live on Musikladen in 1974, which I believe the clip above comes from.
I dug them for what they were worth at the time. I did watch some of that stuff on youtube after reading this and there is something there, something kicky and out of focus that's fun to spend time with for a while.

They performed starkers at a gig at one of the early Roskilde Festivals, 1976. Even shown on Danish TV back then.

Dennis is still performing — mainly in Europe — with s newish. Dr. Hook. Wikipedia says there was a reunion tour scheduled for next year, but his website makes no such implication.

My understanding is that their breakup was highly acrimonious. Which is not what you'd wish for anyone, but especially not a band that seemed as close and fun-loving and fun-giving as those guys at their smelly hippie peak.
There's a delightful Old Grey Whistle Test performance, some of which can be found on YouTube, and a Soundstage show from roughly the same era that I remember fondly. I'd buy DVDs of either/both if I could.

Someone's been posting a lot of complete and near-complete Old Grey Whistle Tests on YouTube lately, and the full Dr. Hook one just came up.
