In my view, they totally trounced it.

Personally, I wouldn't want to be without either one. Two stunningly phenomenal albums.

Pretty close, but I prefer The Yes Album. Not as iconic, but there's a bit more to it.

Court album blows the doors over the Yes Album.
Although two great albums
people here and in the world make too big a deal about prog being this or its just f*cking music.
You like it great you don't move on.

I’d go for Court. The Yes Album is fine but I prefer the versions on Yessongs which flow better and sound less stilted.

I think ITCOTCK trips up with Moonchild. The Yes album has no such stumbles. And I prefer Lizard to the debut anyway.

What we have learned here is that King Crimson fans are more unconventional. They don't conform to anybody's rules! You can't make THEM vote. While Yes fans vote silently, anonymously.

That's reverse symptomatic for any of Coan's 'BCB-personal' polls where even the aliases appear from out of the woodwork....

I love Court, but TYA is easily my favorite of the two.

Like both but listen to the Yes Album far more, so Yes it is.

I listen to Yes album more too and prefer Yes is general but in this instance the Crimson album takes it, in fact I'd take it over any Yes album. Crimson created something unique with this album almost otherworldly that nor they or anyone else managed to replicate. It's like their Astral Weeks.

I love them, both and it is difficult to get off the fence

I play them both about the same but there is soemthing very special about the Crimso album. Very special.

I love Moonchild and of course all the other tracks are corkers.

For every Yes track I can think of the equal match up

Crimso has it. Yes, Crimso has it

I'm not a goon, more of a prog dilettante, but these are albums my kind gravitates toward.

Anyway, it's not a trouncing, but I have generally rated Yes higher, uh...yes.

I still think Crimson gets overrated for getting there first when they didn't really invent anything, and, as others have said, it's maybe not even their pinnacle. Whereas for me, tYA definitely is.

Anyway:

Lake>Anderson
Howe>>Fripp
Squire>>>Lake
Bruford>>>>Giles
MacDonald>>>>Kaye
Sinfield>Anderson (though lyrics are not that important to either album's case).

So it's pretty close on paper, but I'm with Quaco - tYA just runs deeper. Though I guess Griff iswrong in that it's close...

Both great, but Yes album is more consistent.
