Christmases must've been pretty tense 'round the old Göring house!

Yep. There was a TV programme a few years back where Noddy quoted the £250,000 royalty cheque every year for that... Jim Lea gets the same..... it's probably more than that now as that was in the past. I believe it was one of the major causes of friction between Holder/Lea and Dave Hill & Don Powell.

With that amount of money rolling in, I think I would also do fuck all for the rest of my life.

Whereas, Lee did something else. Lee did heroin.

Seems an awful lot of dosh for just one song and one well known cover version so checked on some Las/Mavers's site.

The consensus there seems to be he's making a lot, lot less than half a million a year even if it is all going in his arm

Chest compressions were only "discovered" in the 1960s.

Seems likely. I found it on an 80 track compilation of songs on the UK label. There are whole worlds of horrors on there, most of them Jonathon King aliases that I don’t dare click on, but also a few early 10cc hits, 2 songs from Genesis’ Genesis To Revekation album and the mighty Beach Baby by First Class.

Tchotchke (pronounced CHAHCH-kuh) is a noun - definition "knickknack, trinket". Tchotchke comes from the Yiddish tshatshke of the same meaning, and ultimately from a now-obsolete Polish word, czaczko.

The sound effect at the beginning of "Shotgun" by Jr. Walker & The All Stars is not in fact a gun at all, but guitarist Eddie Willis accidentally kicking his amplifier.
