I've seen C93 twice, once with the Soft Black Stars era line-up (Baby See and Maja Elliot, can't remember if Michael Cashmere was still with em), and once with The Groundhogs line up (and James Blackshaw). First time had the better music, second had the better performance, though it helped that the venue was a cathedral. I'd definitely recommend 'em, either way.

I'm still kicking myself for going to Autechre's All Tomorrow's Parties festival but not going to see Coil because back then I hadn't heard of them. A couple of years later I discovered and fell in love with them but it was too late, Jhonn had already died. It's something I really should try to avoid with this bucket list.

King Crimson are what Robert Fripp says they are. I share your reservations about the current incarnation of KC, but time is running out to see the band I feel.

I've seen most of my favourites apart from ELP, I saw them all solo but not as a group.

Bands I should've seen but missed were Magazine, Be Bop Deluxe, Lou Reed, The Skids

That I haven't yet seen but would like to Daft Punk and Scott Walker ( not going to happen)

I saw Lou Reed four times and can't honestly say any of those performances were unmissable. And the Velvets are probably my fave band of all time.

Daft Punk, on the other hand, were wicked and lots of fun.

Howard Devoto doesn't ever play live these days, does he?

Aah right, completely missed that, would love too see them in action, OAP status be damned.

My oldest wanted to go see him, so I took him - something like 30 years of opportunities, and I skipped them all until just this year. I'm glad I went.

Magazine did a couple of tours in 2009 and another in 2011, bumped in to The Prof and Mrs. The Prof at Bridgewater Hall the second time around in 2009.

Devoto also played with the original line up of Buzzcocks on the "one band, three line up's" gigs they did back in 2012.
Current line up, 'classic' line up and the 'Spiral Scratch' line up.
Caught up with Bellows and Default at their gig in Manchester.

Not much joy for those outside the UK who wanted to see them live however.

I've seen both King Crimson and KC and the Sunshine Band. I enjoyed both but the Sunshine Band was probably more fun.

That sounds cool. What did they play? I would assume that the unplugged format would best suit their early stuff.

Too long ago for me to remember. All I know is I felt a bit cheated afterward.
