damn, i need to catch up on this fucquin thread! may take a goodly while, mwhaha. too distracted by football and out-patient wound care. a strange combination, but the news is kickass/arse on both fronts. and i will cook a huge feast anon. life is gouda.

i did wanna say i had ashes are burning as one of my choices in a prog cup of yore, and it went over very well.

p.s. although you well know, hightea, that we are polar opposites on the whole zep thing. i have known this for many a year, so it bothers me not one whit.

Not too keen on Todd's noodling on side 2 of Initiation, but these are great:

It has been claimed that Astra's debut album, The Weirding , synchronises meaningfully with the senior citizen sci-fi film Cocoon

The title track, which has an air of Black Sabbath about it, is over a quarter of an hour long. You have to wait three and a half minutes for a chorus to arrive and a further eight minutes for it to come around again. I think on those merits alone it qualifies as a prog epic.

I wonder: is In A Garda Da Vida the daddy of the prog rock epic? What do you think?
