This dinky little stream, filled with water-cress and running between the road and the residences, is all that is left
of the huge river of glacial meltwater that cut the opening to the sea, and thus created the cove, at the end of the
most recent Ice Age [/geology lesson cribbed off an info board at the site]

It wasn't until I was cleaning up this picture in an enlarged format yesterday that I first realized how many crows and gulls are festooning the bridge. I originally took it because the bike loitering there so nonchalantly reminded me irresistibly of the Atomic Theory of bicycles adumbrated in Flann O'Brien's The Third Policeman. It's Pulteney Bridge, in Bath.
