Neither of these are my 70's ;)

B but I'm sure Henry Cow must have done better than this.

In other words, ABSTAIN.

I love the HL singles I've heard, but this is not to my liking at all.

I'm still working on Psycho Jazz. Maybe some day.

A wins by default. They were an odd band back then, weren't they?

Nope HC is Frith not Fripp! :P

A is a nice tune could have voted for it in other match ups.

Fred Frith and the boys take it easily

B's a ballsy pick, I generally consider myself someone who enjoys prog the more out there and divorced from any traditional rockisms it is, but even Henry Cow's a hard pill to swallow usually (and I generally love the work every member's done elsewhere as well, Frith particularly). Even so I reckon there's far better showcases to this band than this particular pick, this is a short bit of nothingness really. Weirdly enough, A reminded me of Art Bears early on, and I ultimately enjoyed the angular and combative feel of it all a lot. A it is then.

What an odd band League mark one were - but in a good way, that’s a fine track, all clunky and angular. Against it, well, what a bloody shambles.

Meh. Even pre-hit HL bores me silly. Not much happening there for me, I'm afraid.

I prefer my Henry Cow with vocals (actually, that'd be Slapp Happy, wouldn't it?) but a bit of Chris Cutler redeems even the most pretentious shite. And B is actually fairly light on its feet by their standards.

I quite like both but A's meaty synths and drum machine rhythms are more appealing to my sensibilities. The silly playfulness and squawking of B is equally as fun though.

A decidedly sounds more early 80s for me- it's kind of amazing how music slowly mutated at the back end of the 70s through (post-) punk to a sort of hedonistic art-pop. This is a good example where it works out very well without getting too artsy.
The Cow always went their own sweet ways and they are kind of hit and miss at the same time- it's more respect than actual like for me. And this track typifies the problem for me- right ingredients, wrong dish.

B is a brave pick, I love it!

And I must admit I've got no interest whatsoever in deep cuts by Human League.
