B is too long but quite pleasant.
I'm reaching to the conclusion that I don't like Terry Callier. At all.

Soul, funk, rnb, disco - none of that does much for me and indeed I had never heard of either of the protagonists until today, but perhaps surprisingly I quite enjoyed A.
B was ok too but not particularly interesting and apart from the jolting change of pace half way through didn’t really do anything much.

I want a girlfriend who's a dancer... but since I can't have one, I'll just vote for B

I prefer that Callier track to the other, but it's still inert bachelor pad music for folk who don't need tunes in their lives.
And there's been too much of the B type of thing already - drawn-out soul 'grooves' that just bore
A, without any excitement

I remember when there was a lot of BCB buzz about that Callier song. I even had it in my BCB Cup list in about 2011. Those were the days.
It's a bit old hat now though in BCB Cup terms, and I actually like B a lot. Soulful and groovy.

Terry Callier again, who does he think he is, Slade? I'm dreading having to mention the lyrics, but so far, they're an obvious improvement. In fact, if this track carries on like it does for the last 8 minutes as it does for the first, I'll be bloody well impressed. Properly unexpectedly light on its feet, I love that bit. But it's just slowed down, and doing a portentous downer thing that's really not appealing. Ugh. It really just wanted to build my hopes up before giving me a not so swift kick in the 'nads, didn't it. Boogie-bop-a-boogaloo. irk. Oh, it's speeding up while he scats, and I can see Rocky running up those bloody steps, "Gonna flyyyy nowww". It's a multi-faceted thing this, he's reaching for the stars, but I just don't think he has it in him. Did Van Dyke Parks have anything to do with this, those string arrangements on the start and end really have his kinda feel, it's just a shame about the 6 minutes in the middle.
Is this going to be a similar thing? 8 minutes of pompous schmaltz, I don't know now if I'm judging it badly because I've just sat through 9 minutes of someone else who sounds really self-important. And I'm being spoken down to again, I don't get how to listen to this for fun. Or for something other than not-fun. Love it or leave it? You know where I'm going with that, pompous geezer.
Soz guys, lots of music here, but very little of it fits into my shoes.

Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

What can you say of A? It's Callier's masterpiece probably. Tender, exploratory, beautiful, playful with one of Stepney's most exquisite arrangements. It takes you on an extraordinary journey. This is music for the heavens and I feel sad for those that can't hear it.
I really liked B a lot, good discovery and it deserves so much better than this draw.

Please listen to the Callier again one day Stephen with a more open mind. It is pure music, truly progressive.

B all the way. That song that often comes to mind.
The other is another wrong Terry Callier pick by my reckoning.
