B is such a gem. I liked Terry Callier for 10 minutes in the 1990s, can’t face him now. Especially as when I went to see him I was wearing a ‘Just say ‘fro’ t-shirt. Oh god...

B is the more solid one for me, feels more like a proper song, albeit singer-songwriterly.

Despite the unfortunate 'Guilty Pleasure ' that's been attached to Pinball, I think it's the better of the two tracks. The Terry Callier song was rather too bland.

Not really a fan of Callier, and this song didn't have enough going for me. But I always liked Brian Protheroe's only hit a downbeat classic that capture the essence of provincial England at the time. I could imagine it playing in the background of a Berni Inn as I tucked into my steak and chips....

Another mediocre match to my ears.
A is rather tedious and goes nowhere.
B is better and reminded me of America at the start. The sax lifts it which is nice
Yes, B has a nice groove going on
[Not a great match though for me....]

Callier's not a great songwriter but the performance - the vocal, the arrangement, everything - is the thing here. It's all so perfectly judged, a song to get lost in. I guess I can understand why people might find it slow, though.
I hadn't heard B before, I don't think; it's certainly more immediate but there's an irritating quality to it that I can't quite put my finger on.

A tie that won't be to everyone's taste, but which is certainly to mine.
A isn't quite my favourite Callier - it skirts a little too close to easy listening for comfort - but its lush arrangement and that rich voice pays great dividends. B was largely unfamiliar to me ( I say largely because I am vaguely aware of the track and might even have it on a compilation somewhere) and I enjoyed it a lot. It has that slightly downbeat, melancholy mid 70s feel beneath the bounciness of the tune.
It's close, but partly out of loyalty to an artist who I think is undervalued on BCB I'm going..

Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

A is bland and cripplingly sincere.

B was completely new to me and I found it fanfuckintastic, while A was forgettable (if fact I forgot about it after playing B)
