Got my list in. Some classic Philly soul, a hint of early disco, and some good old fashioned rock n roll are amongst the things which are entirely absent.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

I want ABBA; lots of ABBA.

My list is in, so the rest of you might as well not bother sending yours now.
You'll never beat my mix of classic Bowie, Berlin Bowie, deep cut Bowie, minor Bowie, unreleased Bowie and rubbish Bowie... actually I'd better scratch that last one as it's from the '80s.

Maarts, please don't let me be in fange's group. Or PENK's.
But I'll definitely take a spot in Gash's group. You know.....

You wouldn't believe it but I'm currently doing the draw for the Cup, starting with the groups....and the first draw I got had you n a group with Penk and fange....
Fortunately for you I never use the first draw, i always do a few more so i take the fourth draw and you are in a group with.......(will putup the groups in a tick)
FWIW- I use this site to draw the groups: https://www.randomlists.com/team-generator
Then I do the match-draw with this one: https://www.teamopolis.com/tools/round- ... rator.aspx
All done fairly and squarely

I will notify players if any of the songs they choose appear on another list that has been submitted first and give you the option to change them.
Please pick songs that have been released between 1/1/70 and 31/12/79. Check your own titles please to avoid a forfeit- you will lose your tie 10-0.
The winners of each group will proceed to the final.
How about a fifth spot for best runner-up. It may make the groups a bit more exciting and give greater numbers more to play for.

I have been thinking on a few scenarios.
The one I normally have is the top two of every group but with 8 winners playing a track against each other I would require 7 tracks each for 28 ties which is a bit much.
Then I was thinking about a play-off between group winners versus number twos with the winners of that going into the Grand Final.
I could enter a fifth (and sixth) player via play-off or best runner up easily. It just means the difference of submitting 3 or 4 ( or 5) tracks in the final.

Mine is submitted. I’ll probably think of at least four tracks I should’ve included now.

Can I suggest you remove the Italian prog tracks now, to save time?

Up to you Maarts, but there'll probably be no need for a play-off if the best second placed person has more points and/or a better goal difference than the other second placers.

Mmmmyeah but it would add a new dimension to the format.
I'm leaning towards a 5-person final and I will be happy to include the 'lucky loser'.

That’s over half my list. I could perhaps replace those with Genesis tracks.
