FRIPP & ENO No Pussyfooting
Working on a Sunday afternoon. I can't really listen to music anymore while I do any thinking work. This is about as involved as it gets. Not the worst fate in the world.

Odd.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

I must check out some more Pram. I really liked the song that was submitted for the 90s cup.
This is also odd.
A tribute album where a bunch of Residents fans submitted cover versions through an online competition, the band picked their favourites and mixed and looped different sections all together into a weird soundscape.
The second half I think is just a selection of the songs themselves without editing.

Yep, although the vinyl can get pricy, there's resonable cassettes (!) and the odd CD

I like the debut, this one, and Notorious, but all the albums up to '68 are worthwhile.
NP:
Mostly instrumental novelty songs, early 60's-ish, performed with a blind eye to political correctness that you would expect in recordings of this vintage.

Re: NOW PLAYING.
Been listening to this a lot since I bought it a couple of weeks ago. At first I really only had time for the Fostercare tracks, but some of the Ritualz numbers are excellent too. I know there's something formulaic about the whole witch-house track construction, but I really wish there was more of this stuff out there.

Supreme Death In June rip-offs. Probably better than the real Death In June nowadays.

Re: NOW PLAYING.
Bill Orcutt's oddly fractured and abstract acoustic guitar takes on famous standards such as "Black Betty" and "Zip a Dee Doo Dah". I dig this out every now and again, frown a bit, then put it away again.

Re: NOW PLAYING.
I've read that this band includes members of Arch Enemy, so how is this such a perfect pastiche of early 80's AOR rock?

I just found this CD which I bought back in the late 90s or early 00s.
