Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

The musical setting is quite atmospheric in A, but the rap is the least interesting thing about it when it should be centre stage. I find it interesting how often hip hop gets a free pass for its cliches.
More US landfill indie. This sounds like a Vauxhall Conference Dinosaur Jr.
Poor tie really.

A was really enjoyable all around. I like the guitar sounds in B, but the vocals soured the deal.

From budget Sonic Youth to budget Pixies we go. A wins this by a landslide.

Strangely, I'm in agreement with G about A, ok. The track is all about the languid atmosphere, the vocals are fairly uninspired. This kind of samey doggerel is one of the reasons I tend to look further underground (sub-womble) for hip-hop that no-one else likes.

That is very Pixies, isn't it? It does have a certain tune and charm to it though, that the Pixies tend to lack. I'm a sucker for a real thin and reedy half-arsed guitar line.

B is ok, but doesn't really stand out for me, plus the rhymes in the chorus are a bit annoying. Sorry, B.
A is from an album i still like, although i seldom listen to it any more as it doesn't feel as strong as i once thought it was. Still, ...

I would have preferred A as an instrumental as the music really interested me but vocally it wore me out.
B was pretty uninspired stuff.

I never connected with that Company Flow record (see also: Cannibal Ox, etc). The production is smart but shows its hand far too early and so after a minute or so all that's left to carry the track for another four minutes is the uninvolving rhyming. It's fine, but gets boring over a full album.
I quite enjoyed B. Nothing special or pretentious, just a solid bit of propulsive power-pop... though it's a good minute longer than it needs to be.

A. That Company Flow album is one of the top hip-hop releases from the 90s in my book.

Two tracks that sound almost entirely generic, even if those are genes I tend to enjoy. I guess these are both 6/10ers.

Both fucking awful steaming piles of turd, for very different reasons.

B because it's over a minute shorter, mercifully.

a - Gave it a minute - just going to check out B: OK i did that, and there's no point coming back to listen to the rest, because it doesn't stand a chance
b - this ain't a classic, but it's enjoyable, I listened to it all, trying to spot the influences, but in the end it had enough personality of its own to carry it

B for the 3ds of course because David Mitchell is a fantastic guitarist and can when needed play slide guitar with a beer bottle when not blowing up his amp. Was lucky enough to watch them blow Nirvana off the stage back in the mists of times past.
