Matt Wilson wrote:I'm sure it'll be exactly like the Sgt Pepper's box: remaster (mono & stereo), remix, 5.1, & extra discs of various takes of each song. And now we know the Esher demos will be included.

I think you're probably right. And it sounds like a cool thing. I just wish that this album, which could be the best album of all time, could have some form of commemoration that is above and beyond such normal things. I mean, like, a movie that was shot at the time but nobody's seen, 10 new tracks we haven't heard, that kind of thing.

There might be some kind of making of doc. There was for Sgt Pepper's.

An entire disc -- maybe 2! -- of the individual elements used on Revolution #9.

I assume it'll have the long psychedelic mix of "Revolution 1" that turned up in Bootlegland a few years back.

I also assume that we still won't get the legendary 27-minute "Helter Skelter" (though that's probably for the best).

You know what I liked on the Pepper's box set? Videos for "A Day in the Life," "Penny Lane," and "Strawberry Fields." I hope every video of them performing any 1968 song in its entirely is included. You can see much (all?) of them on the Anthology DVDs, but it was extra cool in hi def.

There must be an hour or two of Abbey Road footage from 68/69, no? there are bits all over youtube. I'd pay top whack to see that if it was cleaned up.

I think the only thing that was filmed was "Hey Bulldog" wasn't it?

There's all sorts of low-grade studio footage on youtube, G. Have a look.

Oh yeah, but that would be more Let It Be, wouldn't it? (If it's the stuff I'm thinking of.)

We should remaster and re-release Bcbeatles to an undeserving public. Its probably ten years now.

At least. I'm just re-ripping at 320 as I only had it at 192.

Happy to zip and send to any poor sucker who hasn't got it. Both Quaco and feeb did terrific versions of Revolution 9.

The Esher Demos are marvelous. Considering how "produced" the final versions are it's really interesting to hear how thoroughly conceived they were from the beginning.

Thanks for the link, enjoying listening to this right now ... Bill Nighy is telling Martin Freeman about his love of the sound of Lennon’s voice and how he likes Siouxsie’s version of Dear Prudence but the original is not only better but weirder and more transportive.

Take 2 of "While My Guitar..." (as opposed to Take 1, which has been available in various places for decades). Fairly clumsy, all in all, but...that doesn't mean I'd dare live without it.

Enjoyed listening to the celebration thing although the between song chatter didn’t add much.
All I will say is, the new version of Rev. 9 is no fun to listen to on headphones which is a shame as I love that song.
