Re: President Donald J. Trump
It feels good to shout and flaunt and vent and yell crazy shit.
The real problem is that the irrational cannot be reasoned away.
The usual strictures against this kind of thing - that it is Not Acceptable or, more recently, that it is uncool - don't work for these kind of people. They were left way, way behind by the arbiters of cool or acceptability and gave up caring about that a long time ago.
It's especially galling and weird to them that the determiners of cool in the US are, and have been for a long time, urban black folk and the arbiters of acceptability are and always have been rich cunts.
There is nothing in the flyover states for those left behind than Christian churches actively inimical to the messages of Jesus, shitty sport and shittier drugs. Oh, and weird shiny stuff on the internet.
Tell me three good things - good, shiny and true - that can replace these destructive tools of the oppressor. Tell me how you can make them accessible and attractive to the knobgobblers and cretins and you will cure America.
Because America, she is fucked.

What, you mean American institutions that haven't become irrevocably damaged in the last generation?
Public education (which they're trying to destroy)
Free press (kind of on its last legs)
Uhh... porn?

Re: President Donald J. Trump
I think the good thing about America is that we can eventually correct our course. We don't have to wait for Trump to die to see regime change.
It may be tougher than ever given the number of people who are hearing information that says "crash into the iceberg! It's the right thing to do!" and trying to sieze the steering wheel to do just that.
But successfully altering our course is one possible outcome.

Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D

Now this is kind of juicy. Russian national, hired by the Secret Service, feeding info to FSB all the while. And when the Secret Service figures it out, they ... evidently don't do anything about it except tell her not to come back to work, months later.
“The US Congress is focusing on Russian hackers when it is possible that all of the information they needed to get into the system came from the internal breach in the Secret Service,” the source said.

You never know with a jury, but reading WaPo's trial coverage, Manafort's goose would appear to be cooked.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/loc ... bc0b493773
Even if the defense can overcome the relentlessly damning torrent of testimony from Manafort's financial people and somehow prevail, PM himself is still going to be on the hook for tens of millions of dollars that IRS is unlikely to forgive, not to mention another $10 million he appears to owe to oligarch Oleg Deripashka, the kind of guy you probably REALLY don't want to owe huge sums of money to. He might be better off in prison. I suppose there's always the possibility of a mistrial or something, but that's just kicking the can down the road, plus there's his other federal criminal trial slated for next month.
I wouldn't want to be in his shoes. Stuff like $900,000 worth of antique rugs vs. watching your children grow up? I almost feel sorry for him the way you do for someone in a Greek tragedy, with the hubris or whatever. Almost.

Re: President Donald J. Trump
A good liar doesn’t simply say the opposite of what’s true all the time; nobody does that. A good liar tells the truth enough of the time to gain a reputation as an honest and trustworthy source of information, and then, when the truth poses an obstacle to their agendas, they put the slightest spin possible on it to nullify that obstacle. They tell half-truths, they omit key pieces of information, and, with really important maneuvers like manufacturing consent for a strategic military destabilization in the Middle East or new cold war escalations against a nuclear superpower, they shift accountability for factual reporting from themselves onto secretive military and intelligence agencies. In this way they keep full control of the narrative and still ensure that the public supports agendas which do not serve the public interest.

Don't worry folks, the raging inferno consuming California is due to Gov. Jerry Brown diverting rivers into the Pacific Ocean, and NOT due to any global rise in temp due to the burning of fossil fuels !

Re: President Donald J. Trump
As far as this "negotiating" over Trump sitting for an interview with Mueller's team goes, I sure would LOVE to see Mueller drop a subpoena on the dotard if only because the basis for his presumptive objection -- that he's too busy running the country -- will be so eminently laughable given his 145 days on the golf course as president and his CONSTANT tweeting on the very topics under investigation. If he has time for all that stuff, surely he has time to sit for Mueller.
But of course the claim of executive privilege will inevitably wend its way through the courts, and the GOP is desperate to get Kavanaugh on the bench in time for him to repay the favor of having been nominated.

I can’t get into it now but I think Kavanaugh’s views about these issues are being misrepresented or distorted by the media and the left. I would vote against him, but not because I thought he was a hack who was going to protect Trump from Mueller (which isn’t exactly what was said, to be fair).
I very much doubt that the Justices are impressed with Trump’s conduct or cavalier attitude at all.

Ignore if you must (Davey) that a "jag-off night club comedian" is bringing you the news and hear his guest, whistle blower Bill Binney, explain how Russiagate is a lie and money making scheme for the deep state.

If you watch the video of the news conference provided by the Russian government, or by news outlets such as PBS and the Associated Press, you will hear the Reuters reporter Jeff Mason ask a bombshell of a question: “President Putin, did you want President Trump to win the election and did you direct any of your officials to help him do that?”
Putin then responds with a bombshell of an answer, according to the English translation of his remarks that was broadcast during the press conference: “Yes, I did. Yes, I did. Because he talked about bringing the U.S.-Russia relationship back to normal.”

Anyway, who's driving "Russia-gate" harder than anyone, with his utter inability to STFU about it? He-who-is-somehow-presidet, that's who.
