Wow, two of us at the same Princeton show - in about a 600 capacity venue. I recall they did an early & late show, but still!

Alexander Hall is one of my favorite venues I've ever seen music in. I got to perform there myself when the Trinity Choir performed Haydn's Creation there. Also saw Fripp doing a talk/ Frippertronics show, David Johansen, Mamas & Papas and Stanley Jordan there. Oh, and also, the Flying Karamazov Brothers!

Ha yes love Alexander Hall wish I saw more shows there. Went with 10 friends to that show. Two car loads from East Brunswick,NJ.
Also saw Pierre Morlen's Gong at Alexander Hall another great show.

Anyone seen them recently?

They're playing Glasgow in August and I'm tempted - find them on JUST the right side of the interesting/wacky divide but I don't want to pay £13 to be irritated!

Probably top of my list of bands I'd love to see. They hardly ever play Britain, and if they do, only London.

I bought a ticket to go see them support Arthur Brown several years ago. I was supposed to go with Madgett (wonder how he's doing) but had a last minute change of plan.

I'm not counting night club DJs or festival appearances. I also don't remember the exact dates for all of these and these aren't in any particular order.

Autechre, SE1, London, 2004
Melt-Banana - Rock City, Nottingham, 2012
Joanna Newsom / Roy Harper - Royal Albert Hall, London, 2007
Sigur Rós - Brixton Academy, London, 2005
Philip Glass - Barbican, London, 2007
Fuck Buttons / The Haxan Cloak - Rescue Rooms, Nottingham, 2013
Lustmord - LSO St Luke’s, London, 2013
Sunn O))) - Barbican, London, 2017
Ghostpoet - O2, Leicester, 2013
Amon Tobin - Hammersmith Apollo, London, 2013

pcqgod wrote:My original list of 9 from the older thread:

Paul McCartney, 2011
Prince and the Revolution, 1985
Jesus Lizard, early 90's
NoMeansNo, either time I saw them in the late 80's or early 90's. Absolutely jaw dropping.
Helios Creed, late 80's/early 90's
Squeeze in 1988 when Jools Holland had returned to the band
Alex Chilton, early 90's
Bauhaus, 2005 or 6
King Crimson, 1995

I think I would have to add Ben Folds for the 10th spot. Maybe bump Chilton for Black Sabbath or the Stones. Seeing Chilton was a thrill but the show itself was pretty iffy.

These were also amazing:

Elvis Costello (with Nick Lowe opening acoustic) - King of America/Blood & Chocolate tour, 1986/87.
Afghan Whigs first two times I saw them around 1990/1991, absolutely brought the crowd to a frenzy.
Los Lobos, a county fair in 2000.
Camper Van Beethoven, Key Lime Pie tour, they finished the set acoustic because the power was knocked out.
Young Fresh Fellows and All were always ridiculously great live.
Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?

Looking back at this thread, it's interesting how many bands I have seen in common...What's really interesting though, Bob and I were at the same show (Dirty Three - Spaceland 1996)...(We both were also at the Long Beach ATP, which I agree, was great...)

A list of ten seems impossible, but I try to narrow down a list eventually...

I was there! At one point James Williamson and Scott Thurston walked by me. I really hoped they’d jump on stage and recreate the Raw Power shows. I mean, I knew they wouldn’t but I really hoped that somehow the impossible would happen.

That's pretty damn cool....Wish they would bring ATP back to LA...All three were really fun..(The first at UCLA and the other two at the Queen Mary...) Queen Mary was an interesting venue to say the least...
