Can't say I'm surprised by the reaction here -which I share. I wonder who will buy it? No doubt there'll be a few convenient articles in the retro media reevaluating Never Let Me Down as a lost classic.

Not really, there are many fans on here and hardly any of them have bought the boxes. There will be new product, like the latest live album Blackout. That's really filling a niche market that won't deliver massive sales, now or in the future.

they are impulse items for people with Bowie fans on their shopping lists.
I'd love to be excited about a new version of "Never Let me Down" - if I thought it had any SONGS I probably would be.

12 out of 15 albums in the vinyl box are previusly unreleased and I don't need or want any of them.

Re: David Bowie RIP
The redone version of Zeroes is online now. Needless to say the fanboys are apoplectic with joy over how great it is. It’s odd. The backing is quite different, but instead of sounding very 80’s it now sounds as if it was cobbled together with pro tools. Which I’m sure it was.
The vocals are way to the fore and just highlights how poor Bowie’s singing is on this one. Despite Reeve Gabrels involvement (why?) his fret shredding isn’t evident ... maybe a little on the fade.
So ... a little bullet dodged.

It was a dreadful record, but the problems start with the songs. The performance was just the cherry on the top of the curly turd.

Re: David Bowie RIP
Totally agree Moleskin. Let us not forget that this makeover forms part of the exclusive content of an expensive box set. Something had to be put in there to help the punters part with their money!

I tried to sit through the whole thing but couldn't. Figured someone here would get something out of it though.
