His lyrics were often perfect. There's nothing you'd change. So witty, so sharp, so direct in a really wonderfully evocative way. There was real intelligence there.
Griff wrote:The notion that Jeremy Corbyn, a lifelong vocal proponent of antisemitism, would stand in front of an antisemitic mural and commend it is utterly preposterous.

Merde.

(Yes they are good, very musical).

You wouldn’t get Joni Mitchell writing about means of transport that’s for sure.
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

Oh, I know we're above this, but the rest of the world?

Anyway, point taken (on this and the other billion times you've brought this up :D ), but I probably sound more serious than I'm actually being, limitations of the written (as opposed to spoken) word and all...

As I got on a city bus and found a vacant seat,
I thought I saw my future bride walkin' up the street,
I shouted to the driver "hey conductor, you must slow down.
I think I see her please let me off this bus"

Nadine, honey is that you?
Oh, Nadine. Honey, is that you?
Seems like every time I see you darling you got something else to do.

I saw her from the corner when she turned and doubled back
And started walkin toward a coffee colored Cadillac
I was pushin through the crowd to get to where she's at
And I was campaign shouting like a southern diplomat.

Downtown searching for her, looking all around,
Saw her getting in a yellow cab heading up town.
I caught a loaded taxi, paid up everybody's tab.
With a twenty-dollar bill, told him "catch that yellow cab."

She moves around like a wayward summer breeze,
Go, driver, go, go, catch her pretty please.
Moving through the traffic like a mounted cavalier
Leaning out the taxi window trying to make her hear.
Things that a fella can't forget...

chuck is important to the beginning of rock n roll. Joni is important to women who rock movement.
Both had a great number of hits. However, when it comes to what I prefer to listen to its Joni.
More interesting material and more to offer.

I came across this last night on Facebook and loved it. You can see the adoration Lennon had for Berry during the songs and how much he was thrilled playing with him. When they were 16 and trying to figure out Chuck Berry songs, I'm sure Lennon, McCartney, and Harrison could've died and gone to heaven if someone told them, even as they equalled his stature, that they'd get to play with him someday.

You can tell Lennon knows all his songs by heart.

Not anymore. I’ll feign moral outrage over Chuck’s peeping tom antics just long enough to tie things up.
