Some of the live albums are over 3 hours long.

Haven't heard all the albums but have loved all I've heard, with a preference for the live albums.

This band stretches out and jams. A rare thing these days.

They haven't made a bad album yet, and I don't expect one in the future.

Have The Allman Brothers officially split up/retired following the passing of Greg?

Yes.

I hold out hope for a tribute show at some point with Warren, Dickey, Derek, Jaimoe, Oteil, Chuck Leavell and the second drummer of Jaimoe's choice, but it's a slim hope. They won't go out and tour as the Allman Brothers Band without Gregg. They could call themselves Whippin' Post or Idlewild South or Brothers and Sisters or some such thing. Very unlikely though. Mule has started playing Allmans songs more often in their set, trying to keep the music alive.
