Re: Ray's Photos
Part Two
When I originally scanned these images, I was caring for Chip in her last illness, so I suppose that it's only natural that I chose to scan pictures of her and others, rather than anonymous churches or whatever else caught my eye back in the ’80s, which is why we're getting nothing but people here.
As I go through them now, cleaning up the scans and posting the results on here, I become increasingly conscious that all this was literally half my lifetime ago, and become only too aware of the weight of all those histories, of what became of these people, as best I know,. Sometimes I think I can see signs of what was to come. But I'm always wrong.
Anyway, more hot fun in the sumertime, 1983, without captions, unless someone new turns up
Here's a case in point. That's Heather in the bikini, and that's her garden not far from where I lived in Cricklewood. She was a long-time friend of Chip, and also shared her place in the late seventies with Pete and Anni. It was through her that Chip met Anni, and, as mentioned to death on here already, Anni who introduced me to Chip. I should also point out, in case anyone was wondering, that despite her looks, Heather was healthy and ate like a horse.
Stall
The old guy in the overcoat on the right is Adrian, who shared his stall on the Portobello Road with Rog, who supplied me. I'd meet Rog there on a Saturday morning, and we'd decamp to the rooftop cafe across the road (whence I took this pic) to exchange cash and packages
more intrigue tomorrow

Re: Ray's Photos
Part Two
Into the last week of March this year, and it seems to be mostly about trees, or at least timber
The Fall of Eden
Waterlogs
Stilted
Swaying
My son came out to take down two trees, a goat willow in my garden and a Douglas fir on my neighbours. I sort of helped.
An odd feeling, but while I weed out tree seedlings by the score in the garden, cutting down mature trees churns me up
emotionally, no matter how necessary it might be.
Douglas
Crow
same old same old tomorrow (probably: Monday if wet)

Part Two
By Request
My fan thought I should have included this yesterday...
Bounce
Laura gives it plenty
Hunk of Cheese Selfie
Mo and Mart
In the 70s, Mart, a Merthyr boy, was often around in Abewrystwyth (one of his boyhood friends lives near Clive to this day), before moving to Brighton. Which is why Mo and presumably Clive are visiting
Street Sounds
Portobello Road
Tomorrow, among other things, a wedding!

Re: Ray's Photos
In Part one, it's Pete and Becky's wedding, or at least the after-party. I was official photographer, so shot only print films, then whipped out the transparencies at the end. Anyway, it's August 1983 and champers in the garden is the order of the day

Re: Ray's Photos
Part Two is gambolling about in South-West Scotland again, at least at the beginning: it's August 1983

Tomorrow, back to That London (and briefly That Brighton)

New Season
1983-4 was the first season I had a season ticket at White Hart Lane. Spurs vs Nottingham Forest. Sad to say, 35 years on I can still name all the Spurs players and two or three of the Forest guys. There's three or four Garys in there

Part Two
On with the weird as the approach of Autumn 83 gathers pace
Beached
At Home with the Guys
The New Girl
This must be my first photo of Toots (on the left, with Kiki's dog Butch), who was found by Chip in Stamford Hill,
dodging in and out of traffic and dragging some rope behind her. Chip did her best to find out who had owned her,
but no-one came forward, and she lived with Chip for the next three years or so. Chip called her Tootsie because
she was all black apart from one white toe.

Re: Ray's Photos
In part one, from last month, HipsterDawg's four-part guide to relaxation, book-ended by some domestic scenes:
Part Two, autumn 1983, features a variety of waifs and strays, as usual.
Ring and Finial
So, it's about 1.30 a.m. and, not for the first time, I wake up on the sofa after drifting away in front of BBC4. This time, though, Scrap is beside me, equally relaxed, and I have a camera to hand.
Basic Hang
Headless

Tomorrow, a duo special

The Quest Goes On II
Just about every time I visited Bill in Brighton, he persuaded me to take a pic or two of him with Biggles to send home to his widowed mum, who doted on cats, and him, but unfortunately insisted that the final result would not suggest either of them to be the deranged hooligans they actually were. I never fulfilled the commission
