You are not sure why age matters? Really?
I don't understand why it matters for Peter Green specifically, if Fleetwood Mac themselves, who are all roughly the same age, are still doing their thing. Then whether or not they, or any/all of the old rock dinosaurs from the 60s or 70s, should still be doing their thing at this age, is a different question.
Well I mentioned Green specifically because that's who was being talked about, that's how conversation works!
But I could have said the same thing if the suggestion was that Jeff Beck or someone like that join the band. The idea that any of these people can turn back the clock and reignite the creative fires of thirty or forty years ago is absurd. I have no problem with them still playing if that's what they want to do, but it's just a form of entertainment, it has little to no artistic purpose and shouldn't be viewed through that prism.
Agreed. They play to make up what Medicare doesn't pay for. Or seem to.
I get it - they play music for a living and are lifers at their profession. I commend them for that. I don't necessarily want to see them myself.
I've been told, however, that Smokey Robinson still has it and is very good live.
