Heavens, I was only thinking about that series a few hours ago, remembering how superb it was and wishing I'd included it.

I loved it as a kid. I think I got from it what others got from the Muppet Show - this colourful wackiness. Compared to staid British children's tv it seemed really out there and It was also an early taste of psychedelic culture, not that I knew that at seven!

I haven't revisited it, but I absolutely loved it for those same reasons. Muppet Show was later and not nearly as nutty. It was verging on intelligent.

I submitted my list and then changed it around. My first list had Deadwood, Late Night with David Letterman, Taxi, and Peep Show, but I sort of whimsically switched those out because I figured those would do well without my vote -- and instead subbed in Breaking Bad, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Star Trek and The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

The final list I submitted was:

Archer
Arrested Development
Black Books
Breaking Bad
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Doctor Who
Freaks and Geeks
Home Movies
Jeeves and Wooster
Monty Python’s Flying Circus
Mr. Show with Bob and David
Mystery Science Theater 3000
Nana
Police Squad
The Bullwinkle Show
Spaced
Star Trek (original)
The Avengers
The Inbetweeners
The IT Crowd
The Larry Sanders Show
The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
The Muppet Show
The Prisoner (1967-1968)
The Rockford Files
The Simpsons
The Twilight Zone
The Young Ones
Wild, Wild, West
Yes Minister / Yes, Prime Minister

I love the ten-second version right before the final credits. Sort of a late night West Coast jazz thing.

Also good to see some love for Bilko, especially from outside the US. Yihla moja, yihla moja, the man is dead.

Loved (probably not the right word) the books, deeply dissatisfied with the TV version.

Honestly, some of the biggest laughs i've had watching TV shows since my kids were born have been while watching Spongebob! And now that they're in their teens, we quote Spongebob lines to each other when something in real life reminds us of the show. It holds a really special place for me.

Yes, it's better than the Steven Soderbergh film, if only because it's tackles a much wider canvas, both emotionally and geographically. The episode where the politician tries to search for his junkie daughter is superbly wrought and acted.

I also considered State of Play and Red Riding, not sure why I didn't choose them in the end.
It's before my time but I've been told, he never came back from Karangahape Road.
