I want to hear Nursery Cryme. I have Foxtrot, Selling England... and Lamb. Still can't quite get into the latter, but I'm ready for NC.

If push comes to shove then Nursery Chryme is my favourite of the albums that came before Lamb.

Have you got around to Nursery Cryme yet, Matt?
If you like that, put Genesis Live on your list as well.
If you want to get fully immersed, the Archive box set is fantastic.

Two phases to their ‘career’:
1) grass growing to old hymn whispered on the wind
2) amateur samba band playing in cocktail bar in Luton

In regards to Genesis
1. From Genesis to Revelation (1969) - okay
Trespass (1970) - excellent
Nursery Cryme (1971) -epic
Foxtrot (1972) -epic
Selling England by the Pound (1973) - epic
The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway (1974) -epic
A Trick of the Tail (1976) -excellent
Wind & Wuthering (1976) -very good
rest
Spot on although I think W&W is excellent too

Not yet, I'm immersing myself in the Wilson Tull boxes lately. I get Songs from the Wood in the mail today, in fact.
Haven't forgotten about Nursery Cryme though.
Of course I will need Coan's approval before I listen, much less purchase the CD. So you'd really be better off asking him if I'm allowed to indulge in another Genesis album.

Re: Genesis
Nursery Cryme is weaker than Foxtrot but I maybe prefer it to England overall.

Why drink from the horse's trough when there's nectar all around?

Yeah, it's a fun song. Sounds more like 1980s Genesis than Brand X, though.
