Re: Who are some of your favorite TV characters?
We just rented out the first series of Reginald Perrin - Baron hadn't seen it before and I hadn't watched it for a couple of decades. We've just binge watched it - what a fucking wonderful creation it was. I was doubled up laughing. I'd forgotten how deliciously he disappears into his own world and how amazing Joan's outfits were.
I can't believe our luck in finding the original out at a shop here.

Re: Who are some of your favorite TV characters?
Yes, he really was amazing.
In a way I'm surprised my parents let me watch this the first time round. It was all very ha ha hee hee but had a slightly distressing undercurrent of someone losing their bearings and I know I found it really puzzling as well as compelling. Why is he doing that? Why is he throwing things out the window? But my parents would roar so I roared too in my teddy bear dressing gown even though I had no idea what was going on.
The 'feel' of the show is what has stayed with me All these years - the texture of it. I had forgotten many of the scenes (the dinner party that never was) but LR's amazing capacity to show someone becoming increasingly bold as they dissolve is for the ages.

Re: Who are some of your favorite TV characters?
The supporting cast was just a bundle of joys, too - everybody perfectly cast. John Barron was phenomenal. And any scene featuring LR and JB together....I'm just open mouthed.
