Anyways, fully refreshed after a day getting absurdly smahashed and editing scans (it takes all kinds...), I'm back with more marvels (or at least some pics of people I knew and places I went around the cusp of the 1980s) from the archives and a misty morning in January this year.

Part One
Starts in East Kent in 1980 or so, where I'm visiting
Image
Image
Carol and Adi
who were more or less newlyweds at the time, although they'd been an on and off couple since the early 1970s. Adi was my last room-mate in Putney, and my first at the Mansions, in the 1970s.

Then back to London and the seething hotbed that is the MediaWorld offices, just off Fleet street

Image
Editorial
Actually, at this point Ros was officially secretary, although she was editor a few years later

Image
London Iconic
Waterloo Bridge, red bus, Embankment dolphins

Image
Mike and Kate
They were both living with me at this point, before Kate went up to University in Sussex: Mike followed her there soon after. So I should be able to date this exactly.
But I can't. I'm thinking 1980. May even be 1979

Image
Deer Park
Part of a Victorian scrap screen I 'inherited': TT left it behind when he moved out of the flat in Putney (he had got it from Rosie Boycott,
came from the Boycott family home) and I carted it around for more than 30 years thereafter

So... :) Today in Part One we're briefly back in Wales for an afterthought, then all over the place in time and space, although somewhere in the first three years
of the 1980s; there's nothing like a large photograph and diary collection to point out what a glib fiction is our unspooling life story.
Not that it matters, of course.
And in part two, less philosophistication, more mistiness, in January this year.

Part one today returns to archive fun; pics of transitioning hippies from the early 1980s, and some of my ancestors
going back to the 1870s. No matter what some people may think, I wasn't around then to take the latter: they are
edited digital scans of transparencies (slides) I took 35 years ago of rather decayted large prints of (mostly) studio
portraits that used to hang in my mother's childhood home in Milton Road, Tottenham, and, I suspect, in my
grandmother's rooms in my childhood home in Clyde Road. But before we get to those...

although he looks older than 48.

This one features my mother's parents. They were married on Xmas Day 1905. He was 29, just out of the army after
15 years (he lied about his age). She was 21
