Random indie thing I bought years ago because I liked the cover. I can never remember what it sounds like, I'm expecting it to be post-rockish.

Susumu Yokota, Pan Sonic, Nurse With Wound, Faust, John Fahey, Coil, and Current 93 all on a single compilation that came free with a magazine back in 2000. It's like a Das Forum playlist but a decade before Das Forum existed.

Compare that to a more recent example, The Wire Tapper 43:

1 –Galerie Stratique Sur La Glace 3:19
2 –Transport (12) Tanz Um Den Melkeimer 3:52
3 –Species Of Fishes Crash Recovery 4:31
4 –Altin Gün* Goca Dünya 3:57
5 –Peregrine Falls Ornette 3:50
6 –Electric Sewer Age Bad White Corpuscule (Edit) 3:57
7 –Cozmic Corridors Dark Path 3:10
8 –Maria De Alvear & Drums Off Chaos Tannenbaum (In Memoriam Jaki Liebezeit 1938-2017) (Edit) 4:15
9 –Ulan Bator NeuNeu (Single Version) 4:03
10 –Heinali Shuffle 4:03
11 –Jon Plus Enterzone 3:02
12 –Fin* Autobody 2:52
13 –Félicia Atkinson Visnaga (Saguaro Edit) 4:13
14 –Ghikas* & Walshe* GRAGH TYMP (Tapper Cut) 3:57
15 –Jamka Derazor (Short Edit) 3:05
16 –Michael Vallera Pollen Blot (Wire Tapper Edit) 4:20
17 –Roland Etzin Wasser (Excerpt) 4:03
18 –Negro (2) Isasa Ha Vuelto 3:53
19 –Grails Tough Guy 3:58
20 –Clang Sayne Requiem (Wire Excerpt) 4:23
21 –Malik (38) ii (contact)

I really struggle to see the point anymore. From that I only recognise three names: Electric Sewer Age (which is Danny Hyde still trying to cash in on Coil), Felicia Atkinson, and Clang Sayne, none of which are ever going to be more than curious entries in discogs in years to come.

This is the 2 CD version which has been seriously revamped with b-sides and remixes, it is a thing of greatness,
and pretty cheap on Amazon via resellers -

I can't vouch for the quality of the music, I'm sure some of it's good, but I barely know any names from any Wire Tapper since around 2008. I get that the point of these kinds of compilations is to find new things and explore them but when the bands are just releasing things on limited edition wax cylinders to a dozen people, the editor of The Wire being one, there's not much to do after you've listened to the comp.

After a lot of searching, and with thanks to your help ages ago, I've managed to get every Wire Tapper except the latest which hasn't arrived at my doorstep yet. That's enough electro-acoustic improv and IDM bleeping from Soundcloud artists for a lifetime. If you want them all I can compress and upload them?

Oh, I also have Electric Sewer Age's Moon's Milk In Final Phase. It's decent, but definitely scraping the barrel a bit but everything sounds like that when you compare it to Coil's Moon's Milk.

That's just it, I don't even think the majority or the artists even get a mention in the magazine ever again, whether they ever record more than a single cassette-only album on Maple Death Records is also unknown. I mean, it would be great if there was some kind of correlation with the contents of the mag, so you could read a review, or if they started pushing some of these within their pages. But it seems aimless and random.

Nah, I've got 'em all somewhere. I've got two smallish CD towers which are pretty much just filled with Wire freebie CDs.

Let U be the set of all united sets, K be the set of the kids and D be the set of things divided.
Then it follows that ∀ k ∈ K: K ∈ U ⇒ k ∉ D
