The Smiths - Hatful of Hollow - ranked

Postby Brickyard Jack » 10 Feb 2018, 13:21

So I played hatful of hollow this morning.
Rank those classics (the list below is the running order on the lp):

William it was really nothing
What difference does it make
These things take time
This charming man
How soon is now
Handsome devil
Hand in glove
Still ill
Heaven knows I'm miserable now
This night has opened my eyes
You've got everything now
Accept yourself
Girl afraid
Back to the old house
Reel around the fountain
Please please please let me get what I want

Interesting choice for the top and nice to see how soon is now not overrated.

William It Was Really Nothing
Girl Afraid
These Things Take Time
What Difference Does It Make
Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now
Hand In Glove
Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want
This night has opened my eyes
Accept yourself
Still Ill
You’ve Got Everything Now
This Charming Man
Handsome Devil
Reel Around The Fountain
Back To The Old House
How Soon Is Now

There was a time when how soon is now was thought to be their best track!

I love it, myself. Always have. However, it’s not my favourite on the album.

That goes to Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now.
