Well?

Chose any two.
It is about time we recognised who the real Earl of Irritation was. These are the people who have bought BCB to its knees. But who was the greatest?
Vote now.

Each of those people had a reason for being here and thus are not true trolls. The ones who exhibited the most trollish behaviour were Yellowjacket and 'skope.

I think Yellowjacket was a genuine troll.

One man’s troll is another man’s freedom writer.

That's all very well, but who's going to clean the grey goo off the keyboard, eh?

Nev has never damaged the community like the others. It would be a very very long list if I was going to name everyone here who can be a nuisance.

Foxhound and Hepcat exhibited classic troll behavior.

I appreciated Skope's wit, and while he didn't attack me, he was pretty trollish to certain members. His art, was he could spot the chinks in someone's personality and exploit it. If you let him get to you, he could smell it.

The other two were classic trolls - they thought they were more clever than they really were. They were sledgehammers that thought they were chisels. Skope was a chisel and could wield his instrument, expertly.

Oh I was never suggesting he should be on the list, despite his love of DiIdo Band, but that is a tendentious list. I mean, all of them have, ahem, distinctive online personalities (not that Yellowjacket and I ever crossed paths), but that's about the only thing they have in common - difficult to see any of them as 'destroyers', although some of them are distinctly strong flavours, so I wondered about the choices and omissions.
And why the past tense? Only YellowJacket and Googa appear to have gone for good, skope pops in every now and again to save the board and add to the gaiety of the nation, and all the others post regularly, sometimes manically, still. Even old Furry turned up a couple of days ago to tell us what a load of boring shits we all were.

I'm never comfortable deciding who is and isn't a troll. I figure that's something for the moderators to sort out.
I was accused, pretty regularly of being a troll on another board by somebody who didn't like my posts.
was I troll? was he? both of us? I don't have a clue.

I think we have authentic Russian trolls posting here today but somehow they manage not to get hounded off the boards.

Understanding Russia, Un-Demonizing Putin

February 6, 2018

Since Vladimir Putin became president of Russia in 2000, there has been a steady barrage of negative press and hostility from the West. With Putin up for reelection this year, Sharon Tennison tries to separate fact from fiction.

By Sharon Tennison

Russian President Vladimir Putin obviously has his faults and has made his share of mistakes. Yet, my experiences with him, as well as what I have heard over the years from people I trust –– including U.S. officials who have with him worked closely –– indicate that Putin is essentially a straightforward, reliable and exceptionally inventive man.
Question authority.
