Supposedly there's a new Grimes album coming soon. Maybe two. I'd be happy with just the one, though.

I've mentioned Elise Legrow before, but feel strongly enough about her debut album to plug another cut in here.

I am very much liking this- new band signing for Simon Raymonde's Bella Union-label. The track is quite sumptious!

Anna von Hausswolf's new album is excellent - her singing is something else.
Finally it seems that Anna Calvi, having come out, is now also finally coming out with her new album. Really looking forward to that.
Not sure if this will be released in 2018 but Steve Earle's latest will be worth looking out for - amusing build-up:

https://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/st ... 385702002/

He’s just decided his next project will be an album of songs by his mentor, Texas singer-songwriter Guy Clark. He similarly paid tribute to Townes Van Zandt with 2009’s “Townes.”
“Yeah, I don’t want to meet Guy in the beyond having done the ‘Townes’ record and not having done his record,” he said, laughing. “He’s a ghost you don’t want to run into.”

That Nils Frahm album is magnificent, unfortunately the gig Glasgow was cancelled due to the snow.

Couple of others I have been enjoying a lot.

Tracey thorn - Record. Magnificent grooves on this one.
The Decemberists - I'll Be Your Girl. Some brilliant hooks.
Unieqav - Alva Noto. Glitch electronics at their best.
Johann Johannsson -Englabörn & Variations. Sad loss.

Looking forward to

christina vantzou - No. 4
Wooden Shjips -V

I was listening to Englabörn yesterday. Wasn't aware of this verson? Love "All Melody" - possibly his best and likely my favourite album this year. And the Tracey Thorn is fabulous. Played it to death the week it came out. Have you listened to the AAL album?

Stumbled upon this courtesy of a colleague who asked if I knew this band- an Amsterdam duo.
The initial song i heard was a bit reminiscent of the Innocence Mission/Mazzy Star but listening to this album there's a clear bit of shoegaze-elements in their folk.
The lyrics are a bit hippy-dippy and there is this undeniable Dutch twang in Anna singing in English but this is quite lovely.

Another corker from Jon Hopkins.
Very much in the same vein as Immunity and perhaps with a lesser sense of depth but equally as satisfying and electric.

I was a bit underwhelmed by this on first listen, it was like immunity plus for me, good but not anything I hadn't heard before so more listens required.

Hitting the spot at the moment though,

Grouper - Grid of Points
Goldmund - Occasus
Bas Jan - Yes we Jan

Oscar, Good shout on AAL, wonderful stuff.
