Their last really solid album and a return to form after the mediocre Mr. Gone.

Some big sounds from one of my favourite bands. Not a great fan of the electronica sounds that have been built on since the last album Distant Satellites but a couple of plays in and there are some mighty fine elements. Looking forward to seeing how it develops in the next week or so anyway.
Didn’t really embrace the whole at the time, but listening now for the 1st time in a few months and it sounds quite fresh.
Got them AOTY 2017 at the Prog Awards IIRC.

Today has been a day for revisiting some class albums from 2017 previously commented on.

Re: PROG CORNER
Enticed by some strong reviews about this late 2017 release, I’ve played it a few times since Christmas and it’s a pretty impressive rock album.
Australian band’s 2nd album, this is entirely instrumental but (maybe the “but” is out of place) totally engaging, cleverly played, certainly prog but not in any way post-rock.

Interesting album, but pretty fucked up as I recall.
I’ll dig it out.

Re: PROG CORNER
A lot of the new prog bands are staffed by experienced (one might even say grizzled) musicians who’ve been around the block a bit. This lot are very fresh faced which is good to see.
