^^ As a Swiss, I've been personally embarrassed by this for the last 30 years...

As for the original poll, I agree with Rayge   the Housemartins' is the only track I wouldn't skip within seconds.

Purgatory Brite? Rother? Can we get a robust defence? Or would you rather wait to hear what your beloved leader says first?

I seriously doubt you’d get anyone defending that.

All four options are shite. I’ll take the BAD one though, still sounds good

Invisible Touch rates as my particular lowest point for Genesis.

Not good.

Lessons In Love for summer '86, shurely?

Hot Water was from way back in the drawn in nights of autumn '84: Pride (In The Name Of Love), Ghostbusters, Purple Rain, Self Control, Shout To The Top, Blue Jean, Smooth Operator....another BCB thread opportunity right there.

As for the PSBs and Run: bangers!

I've been talking about writing a book - 25 years of TEFL - for a few years now. I've got it in me.

Here's my predictable "the year Acid House started" post. It had taken off in Chicago in '85, but by '86 it was in full flow..

You’ve got me there.

And now I’m thinking, Jesus He Knows Me couldn’t be much worse.

Didn’t get on with Land of Confusion either.

They probably made a skip full of cash from them but they’re no Return Of The Giant Hogweed that’s for sure!

The No Shooz is so much better than the other three it isn't funny. Happy Hour passable if overplayed. Higher Love and Invisible Touch both unpleasant and unnecessary, as indeed were the musical careers of Winwood and Genesis by 1986.
