Who's going on a recruiting drive then? It's always nice to get a bit of fresh blood.
I don't think I'm registered there anymore, or if I am I certainly can't remember my login details.

It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

Though I had joined in 2001, I wasn't active when the big exodus happened. I never understood what was the issue and why on earth zlib compression was important - or in fact what the fuck it is.

I was only on there a year or two (around 2001/2) but I would never have ended up on BCB without it.

Me three.

Happy times, sitting in my little kitchen in my flat on the outskirts of Prague.

It was the first message board I'd ever been part of, and it was great fun. Lots of troublemakers. And Urg Vernonson :)

I don't know if I discovered the magazine first or the message board. I think it was the message board. It must've been around 2001 or so. I was working at an art materials company and had some downtown time at lunch while I ate at my cubicle and goofed around online during the.

I always loved talking music, but my friends could only go so long and many weren't around anymore because they'd moved, had families, etc.

I was overjoyed at finding it and lurked around for around a year, maybe more. Every one knew so much more about music than me. I just kinda soaked it all it in. i didn't feel like I could fit in. I still don't do those things like pick your favorite albums of the year or all time because I don't list things like that. Heck, I didn't even order my record collection anymore after the move into our house. I'm not anal like that, and I certainly wasn't anal enough to discuss engineers, track listings, album chronology, blah, blah, blah. I find some aspects interesting, but not enough to want to do it.

I made halfhearted and infrequent contributions where no one would have really noticed I was even on there. I'd be pretty positive no one would ever remember me from Mojo.

And then the formation and break from BCB happened. I was staying at Mojo because it was homebase by then and no one invited me over, because as I wrote, i'm sure no one even knew I was around.

I think I looked once and it was a year after BCB formed that I clicked on the link to it and asked to join. I had been pretty sick of the petty bickering back and forth and had gotten fed up with Plaxico's rantings and Megh's sycophancy of him.

BCB was still cooling as a planet, but I was braver to contribute because it was new and not as established. I pushed myself in more than I usually do in any kind of social situation, even online, but felt like if I wasn't a dick and kinda stuck to my limited knowledge of music compared to others, I'd be okay.

My 22 year old daughter was around eight at the time and my son was 2. I think that's been one of the most enjoyable things from this board: Seeing all the kids pics and the way they've grown up.

It's a shame but not unexpected. MOJO has been fucking around with that community for years. Not that the community itself helped themselves into their good graces.
It was my next favorite stop after the Rolling Stone-messageboards exploded. I maintained presence there for a while when I signed up here but lost interest and time....

Anyway, some of the crew resides here now, in case...

Would be great to get a few new bodies here. If anyone can still log on, be sure to tell them we have a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY when it comes to proggy woggy
