Well of course that devalues it utterly.

Although, 'bantz' aside (I presume you were joking rather than Trumping) Leicester certainly weren't in the bottom six at the end of last season when he stuffed it to them at their place, nor were Stoke last February, and Burnley were in the top six last time I looked.
And how many of Arsenal's total of 0 were hammered in against sides in the top 20?

And if he'd been rightly sent off for that hideous foul on Sterling he wouldn't have got the last two.
Woulda coulda shoulda.
A little churlish don't you think, or is it not enough that your team is by far the best on the planet, will go through the season undefeated and win all four trophies available?

Not a bad price for a defender who was dropped after getting ripped apart by Leicester a couple of weeks ago.

Talking of which they could buy Chris Smalling instead (please), and save themselves £40m

That's the thing, he's done or won fuck all of real note. 75 million? I'd rather sell lovern and stick the kid Gomez centre half than pay that amount.

Irrelevent.

They're buying him to put in goal Ed as an upgrade on Mignolet.

Sadly, I have to assume that Coutinho will be sold in January to pay for this - and Keita's fee.

If we ignore the extra game (*) that Spurs have played over Arsenal, they've scored the same number of goals this season. So if Arsenal don't have any hat tricks and Spurs have six that just tells me that Spurs are rather more reliant on a single player than Arsenal are.
(*) Admittedly they did score 5 in that game.

I am completely baffled by this. On what planet is this player worth anything like this much? I'm not aware of him being anything other than bang average unless I've just watched the wrong games. And John aka Josh is right, Coutinho must be going. I was really hoping he would stick around until the end of the season since he's cup-tied for Champions' League

Personally I think he's Kompany/Ferdinand material. Outstanding in the air and a great distributor from the back. The interesting thing is that apart from the 4 games this season that Liverpool have conceded 3 or more goals, their defence has actually been pretty tight. They've only conceded 3 at Anfield for example.

Re: Premiership 2017/18
You know Van Dijk is very good - and he's a commanding centre back who can play a bit too. John Stones - think of that, but probably better defensively but not as good with the ball. I suppose if Stones was worth £40 million little over a year ago, and the huge escalation since the Neymar deal, it may not be such a ridiculous fee.
But that's quite a few if and scenarios, for £75 million.
I'm not sure Coutinho will move in January - he may sign a deal to move at the end of the season, which may placate him enough to see the season out. But he's moving, there's no doubt. The whole tone around his departure has been 'managed down' the past few weeks - I think Oxade-Chamberlain's defensive intervention in their interview a couple of weeks back was telling. I think they probably all know.

That was just about the classiest thing he’s done in a Liverpool shirt so far
