Let’s keep it that way.
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

Trans-chigley Ray and i have a Hong Kong jolly-up of 2 every so often, and the music chat can often be just a small fraction of what we talk about these days.

Lovely guy. It's just a shame there aren't more BCBers here to join in too.

Some of my favorite BCB meetings have been just me and another BCBers. I was in New Orleans for a tradeshow and hooked up with Nolamike a couple nights. Ray K came to San Francisco with his girlfriend and the two of us hooked up for an afternoon - a couple beers and walked down to the ballpark and watched the San Francisco Giants through the fence, and then had a couple more beers.

Big Jolly Ups can get kinda frantic and I don't really dig large crowds too much. There was a time when a few BCBers came up to SF for Hardly Strictly Bluegrass and those few have been fun. At the bigger ones, I kinda picked my places at the Jolly Up of America's San Francisco tour stop.

Matt Wilson's car used to be a definite stop at Los Angeles JUs, but my constitution is too old that shit now.

I've always enjoyed them immensely.
I have rarely spoken to Moddie about music, as it was obvious after the first time that he didn't know anything about music.
Paradoxically, I have spoken to Yomp on the subject at great length.

Doing well. Hanging out with his family and enjoying his job at the law firm in Houston.

His girls are like 10 and 5 so I don't think he has much time for BCB.

To be honest the main reason I’ve seldom attended JUs is out of fear of someone giving me a copy of Embryonic Journey.

Any regular BCBers yet to attend any kind of meet-up? Jeff K? Snee?

I've met several BCB-ers one-on-one. (At least five of them no longer post here. Coincidence?) And there was one time in NYC with Snarfyguy and Guy E (anyone else?) and one time in Virginia with Hotsie and MacAndy.

There've been a few larger-scale JollyUps I had planned on attending but was thwarted by expensive car trouble or health trouble. Someday...

Those are the two biggest posters that haven't met ANY of us that I'm aware of.

In fact I'm not convinced either of them really exist.

I can think of 5 regular British posters off the top of my head that have never, to my knowledge, been to a JU and it probably wouldn't be hard to think of some more.

But how many regular posters can you think of that have never met ANY of us? I can only come up with those two.

I looked at our top 25 all-time posters and I've personally met 18 of them. And there are five more than I know for sure have been to at least one JU.

I've loved every London JU I've attended- of course, those of us who attended the inaugural event are particularly blessed and revered.

The August 2003 event still stands out - over 50 of us from all over the world on a blisteringly hot London weekend. Incredible event.

The Prague and Barcelona JU's I went to were fabulous and I'd just like to thank John Coan, Tym & Steve for their fantastic efforts on 'hosting' those. I'd only wish I had been able to attend more.

The two I went to in Florida were small but marvellous - again, Brian, Jamie & Chris deserve all credit for making the effort to come and have a drink with me.

Finally the two LA JU's were magical - actually putting a face to all those illustrious names was really magical. One day I hope to do the same with all those guys and gals.

I keep meaning to attend a Northern Jolly Up but never quite manage it. Which is a shame as some of you seem very pleasant, even though you are from the North.

Who, then?

I can only think of Samoan and Ray - and I'm not even sure neither of them have met up with anyone.
