I was just checking to see if it was "Alone". Y'know, I don't have a heart of stone. :D

There's something about the timbre of Ann's voice singing the "every second of the night" melody in the chorus that I generally end up saluting.

Beyond that, I certainly make no revisionist claims for 1980s/90s Heart. Their comeback exists with the same gigantic asterisk as does that of someone like Aerosmith.

It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at that man.

I may have to stumble over a lengthy list of caveats in order to say anything generous about it, but...here we are.

Not long ago I went through a period of reassessing Heart. Found that I liked their seventies far more than I'd previously thought I did, and that their nineties-to-present era has had its moments.

But boy did their eighties blow chunks. How bad did it get? "These Dreams" (which I have no recollection of hearing at the time despite it being their first #1 single) is a relative highlight of the period, that's how bad.

That’s one that I always felt like I should hate, yet didn’t/don’t actually mind.

I like it fine. "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" is better.

I thought "Mad World" would be the one you would have John!

I can just about stand that one.

'Shout' is a fucking atrocity.

it's the band, though, really. They're absolute cunts the pair of them.

"Everybody Rules the World" was on the TOTP thing I was watching last night, and it was the most repulsive thing shown that night. The scrawny one looks like a more obnoxious Rik from The Young Ones, and the fat one sings like he's got those big clear-plastic cheek retractor things installed. His mouth movements are like some of the weirder things from the depths of the ocean in Blue Planet II.

Oh, I don’t know. I’d throw everyone involved with BOTH recordings off very tall buildings with 10-ton weights tied to their scrotal sacks

 fair enough.

Orzabal always comes across as a real nice guy, and I like some of their stuff, including Shout and Everybody Wants to Rule The World. I sang the latter at karaoke once, really badly obviously :D

I just thought you had some specific reason for saying they were cunts like they had been horrible to you or had got off with your girlfriend or something.
