Leaving the Carpenters out of this for a moment, Glen Campbell was a member of The Wrecking Crew and played on hundreds of your favorite songs, whether you knew it or not. Or at least he did for me. What he did over the course of his career transcends the notion of competition. This is comical.

WL is superior in every way.

yeah, it is. it's still a close call for me. I'm a sucker for "Superstar" and not in any hip & detached sort of way.
I think her vocal, bland though it may be, really shines.

BUT, WL is just about a perfect record in every way. it sticks in my head for weeks after I hear it.

I know way more Carpenters songs, but I like C&W better. Glen Campbell was pretty special.
