He's a big Wolves fan and regularly turns up to see them play - not in a private box, next door to every day fans.

He's known for living a pretty spartan life (doesn't sleep on a bed, apparently) and has made some very straightforward lifestyle choices.

I like Robert - I think he is a genuinely good guy.

He certainly comes across that way. I also sense that he's very strong minded about his music, kind of like Neil Young. He listens to what his muse tells him and if it tells him to go in a certain direction he does.

He seems to have a strong sense of himself and genuinely doesn't give a fuck what anyone thinks, but has a sense of inner decency and civility. It's a tough balancing act for an artist - selfishness and dedication to their art, yet not burning bridges and not being a dick at the same time.

A sensible pet if a pregnancy test is required.

He's definitely a friendly acting guy. Peter Gabriel would give him a run in terms of overall kindness, though.

He seems like a nice guy for being a golden god and all.

The only proviso is that he can be prickly (still) around his inter-personal relationships with Page & Jones and can be positively hostile when Led Zeppelin is mentioned in the opening gambit of an interview re his solo work. He has a point...... Led Zeppelin have now been split up for over three times as long as they were together.

I have met him and he was perfectly pleasant. But then so was Jimmy, to whom I spoke at the same time.

I've shaken Jimmy's hand (twice) and nearly died..... :) Yes he's perfectly pleasant too, but not as naturally outgoing as Robert I don't think.

You can't fault his taste in music, even if you don't care for what he's recorded in his career.
Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?
