I'm 95% certain I saw the Strawbs in '76 or '77 & didn't enjoy it much. My only real acquaintance with them is From the Witchwood which my brother in law has & I've heard a couple of times about 40 years ago.

C is the expert, but if you're really digging it I would also check out Hero & Heroine, Ghosts, Grave New World, From The Witchwood and the live Just A Collection of Antiques and Curious.

Wakeman was long gone by the time you might have seen them

Witchwood is, I think, 1971

Would have loved for them to have put out a double live album from either the Hero & Heroine or Ghosts tours.

What a monster epic this song is.

I was drinking pre gig in the post grad bar at Reading University's student's union. Rick came in & stood next to me & held court for an hour, he just reeled off gag after gag. He could sink a pint or ten & vaguely knew me (he was dating older sister of a school friend). I was not completely sober for the gig. We were expecting him to join them for the last number but didn't.

This song is jaunty. They've covered quite a range so far.
