The Second You Knew You Were Old, Musically.
Circa 2007, working in a youthclub chatting to a 15 year kid about music. I mention john squire and the stones roses, his response? "Who are they?".

Never heard of them either

That's down to lack of musical taste than age though.

I'm not old, other people are too young.
Mind you, the fact that I've only heard 1 of the 30 albums so far in Penk's albums of the century poll probably tells me something.

I've heard (and liked) 10.
That's 1 out of 3, not bad for an old ageing teen.

In 1997 or so I walked into a show by Final Conflict at the Whisky and realized that, except for the people onstage, I was the oldest one in the room by at least 20 years.
It was like "Well, so much for chatting up girls. They'd call me grampa and beat me up."
That was 20 years ago.
Tonight I go see the Dead Boys. There will be some people there older than me.

I saw a band in the early 2000's that was called 64 Worlds Fair. I looked around the room and realized I was the only one in the room born before the 1964 Worlds Fair and it wasn't even close.
I also remember there was a hipster bingo game going around and it said "grampa over 30". I was over 40 at the time.
That being said it never bothers me being at shows no matter age. These days there seems to be more including some of my high school friends who all had kids who are now in college so they comeback out to play.
I've seen these two at shows all the time - Elbow actually did a video about them.

A pub, mid-90s in Calgary AB. I was pretty pleased with a double J. Geils Band compilation I'd found for a reasonable price at A&B Sound. A kid came by to use my lighter for his cigarette. He examined the CD without my permission. He lit up and said, "Old school, eh?"
