I'd happily listen to any of them apart from Garbage and Pajama Harvey.

You only let me choose five, though, so I went DJ Shadow, Suede, Supergrass, Pavement and Oasis. The first two of those are the ones I'd call favourites, while the others I chose either have their moments or (Oasis) have nostalgic value for me.

I voted Suede, Oasis, Grass, DJ Shadow and Air

My favourite is the Suede one. A great big swaggering glam pop wonder of an album. Butlers guitar playing is a tour de force

The Oasis one is let down by a couple of dogs (Digsy's Diner, Married with Children). The Supergrass was is a pop delight and a real rush from start to finish. How old were they again? 12?

Dummy is boring. Garbage were a joke. Entroducing is great. Moon Safari has some naff associations but there's good stuff on there too.

Just what was the point of Pavement?

Tindersticks is head and shoulders above the rest. The others are not fit to lick its boots. It is in an altogether different league.
Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.

I like some of their stuff but I'm never quite sure why. I find it quite hard to pinpoint something that's really good about them.

'Here' is a lovely song (Tindersticks do a cover of it if you like them and can be arsed youtubing).

Not MY 90s!

Of those, I suppose Suede, though I like Butler's stuff after more.

I took the five from Suede to Garbage.

The best by many millions of miles is "Dummy" though.

Tindersticks easily and one of my favorite albums from the 1990s in general. Though that Pavement album is pretty good.

Me too. I'd happily listen to Suede, Dummy or Endtroducing any time though.

I like a certain period of Pavement just fine - but this debut album is definitely a case of "they aren't remotely there yet".

More than a few of my favorite records from that decade are made by people whose thing was well underway. That said, the Suede and the Grass and the Air were never better.

Oh I like most of these albums quite a bit, and Dummy is another one that clearly stands out for me, it's just that the Tindersticks album is on a completely different level than the rest.

I own all of these and the only one that's a genuine meh is Garbage. The rest all have something to recommend them by. I voted Slanted & Enchanted, I Should Coco, Dummy, Fuzzy Logic and Moon Safari. Close on Definitely Maybe but the dogs on that LP, correctly called by GB, put me off. The ones above don't have anything that makes me wince. And for all it's ubiquitousness, Moon Safari remains a record of uncommon excellence.

Three I don't know well enough, or at all, one (Dummy) I don't like, no problem with the rest. Tindersticks the favourite, then Dry and Fuzzy Logic. Also voted for Suede and Garbage. Should get north of £400 for my vinyl copies of those five.

Air Safari
Dummy
Endtroducing
I Should Coco

Couldn't be bothered with a fifth, though if pushed would have gone Oasis.
