We're in agreement with the first four and we both put the Stranglers fairly high which is a bit of a surprise.

It’s my fave Stranglers - so many great songs. ‘Goodbye Toulouse’, ‘London Lady’, ‘Hanging Around’, ‘Grip’.

I can’t remember if the album with ‘No More Heroes’ came before or after - but that one’s almost as good.

The Clash - s/t
Never Mind the Bollocks- the Sex Pistols
Suicide - s/t
Horses - Patti Smith
Songs the Lord Taught Us - The Cramps

The above were all records I had and played a lot. All important to me in one way or another. The rest of the list is stuff I heard, but which wasn't important for me.
Rattus Norvegicus - The Strangles
Damned, Damned, Damned - the Damned
Marquee Moon - Television -although this record made little impact on me at the time, I've put it above The Ramones because I'd be curious in rediscovering it.
The Ramones - s/t
My Aim Is True - Elvis Costello

***************************
The Modern Dance - Pere Ubu. Still never heard this.

I remember you never being that crazy for Marquee Moon. At least you're consistent.

I should go back to it really. I do like the title track, but I've never been fussed over any of their other songs I've heard.

Like fast-moving clouds casting shadows against a hillside, the melody-loop shuddered with a sense of the sublime, the awful unknowable majesty of the world.
