he just reuses titles he likes.
I respect that. he's really singing a little differently on this one, isn't he?

Yes there are lots of moments to enjoy in the vocal performance. It is a fantastic record.

The length is my biggest complaint. I wish it was longer!
Amazing album from one of the greatest American bands of all time.

Re: Pere Ubu
I’m shallow enough to admit that I’m discouraged to learn that DT mostly performs sitting down nowadays. Well, why shouldn’t he sit down? I know he wasn’t exactly David Lee Roth but he had great grace & style as a front man. I wonder if he whittles a stick while he’s sitting down?

Re: Pere Ubu
it's nice to see that people on social media are taking up the slack that's left by all the mags and free weeklies going belly up.
articles about Ubu's legacy and "return to form" seem a necessary part of the touring process for an act like that. I mean, a rabid cult only gets you so far. My best Ubu gigs have had a good number of looky-lous mixed in with the frothing faithful.

I enjoyed this David Thomas interview.

I'm of the opinion that he's pretty much full of shit but he does give a fun interview.

Re: Pere Ubu
I went to see Pere Ubu play last night - the show was in Bush Hall, which is in Shepherd's Bush, West London, birthplace of The Who/Sex Pistols band members. Bush Hall is a music hall built in 1904 which has been a bingo hall, WW2 soup kitchen, and rehearsal space for bands including The Who.
Pere Ubu on tour at present comprises Dave Thomas, Chris Cutler on percussion, Keith Moliné on guitar and samples, and Gagarin on synthesisers and electronics. No bass, no theremin. The set was made up of most of The Long Goodbye album (this was the launch event) with extensive spoken word explanation of the songs plus diversions from DT. I think the show started with related early single 'Heart of Darkness', as does the set on the live album Montreuil.
The live performance of the album lasted an hour, then there was a further twenty minutes of encores, including 'Road To Utah' from the Carnival of Souls album
As well as LPs and the double CD of the latest album (studio disc/live disc), the merchandise also sells Baptized Into The Buzz, a 123-page book which describes the recording and themes of The Long Goodbye and in what ways it relates to the rest of the output of Pere Ubu/Dave Thomas. There have been two previous books relating to the albums Lady From Shanghai and Carnival of Souls.
