Rate these 4 songs I heard at a KFC the other day

Postby pcqgod » 13 Oct 2017, 00:00

1. Jungle Boogie -- Kool and the Gang
2. Hold Your Head Up - Argent
3. Head Over Heels - The Go-Go's
4. That's the Way (I Like it) - KC and the Sunshine Band

Where would rock 'n' roll be without feedback?

1, 3, 4, 2 for me - and I think the K&tG one is easily the class of this group.

Don't mind any of them much, but the Argent one does go on a bit.

Yeah, I've always preferred the 45 edit.

My order is the one that was posted conveniently enough.
1.Jungle Boogie - 8/10 Great record -packed with toughness and attitude
2. Hold Your Head Up 8/10 It just works doesn't it? It escapes the blandness of much of this genre by having real drama ( all those sudden peaks!)
3. Head Over Heels - 5/10 I don't know the record well, but it's decent pop, but too lightweight to really excite.
4. That's the Way ( I Like it) -2/10. I suppose it's a classic of its kind, but I've never liked it. There's something idiotic about it and its incredibly monotonous.

Are you sure you're not talking about the Argent record?

At the risk of further enhancing my reputation for being relatively easy to please musically, i like all of these!

Great - K&tG, KC&tSB
Good - Go-Gos, Argent

the Go-Gos is not bad, KC used to be not bad, Argent is totally beyond the pale, nay the far horizon. And the other one has the f-word on the cover, so I'm not listening to that.

I saw KC and the Sunshine Band live a few months back, they're FUN. And so is That's The Way if you put aside your inhibitions and go with it.

Jungle Boogie is good but a bit earnest in comparison, Hold Your Head Up is a rather dull really and I can't remember the Go Gos track (or play the Youtube clip at work).

'Jungle Boogie' is absolutely fucking hideous.

Are people sure they're voting for that one and not 'Disco Inferno'?

Never mind about that. Did you get the original or extra-crispy? What about sides?

What do you think they were playing in Popeye's?

2. Hold Your Head Up - Argent Harpo
3. Head Over Heels - The Go-Go's Zeppo
4. That's the Way (I Like it) - KC and the Sunshine Band Chico
